An estimated 24 hospitals in rebel-held areas in Syria have been targeted by Russian warplanes during the past eight months, leading to the complete destruction of eleven of them, according to Anadolu news agency.
The hospitals were mainly in the provinces of Aleppo, Idlib, Latakia and Deraa, including a hospital run by Doctors Without Borders in the town of Maaret al-Numan in Idlib, and al-Watan and the Orient hospitals in Jisr al-Shughour.  A hospital run by Doctors Without Borders was also hit in the north-east of Latakia.
Russian airstrikes have forced seven hospitals to stop their operations in Deraa for security reasons.
On Monday, an estimated 23 people were killed and 35 others injured in Russian airstrikes against different areas in the province of Idlib, including Al- Watani and Ibn Sina hospitals.
The targeting of hospitals and health centres in Aleppo has increased pressure on field hospitals which provide services to a large number of people despite a lack of facilities.
